From love stories to lifetime legacies, everything before and in between, I’m Steph McCurdy: Master of memories, marriages and more merriment than you can shake a stick at…but then, why would you want to?

So, if I’m going to be telling your story (and its an absolute honour) I think its only fair that I share with you some of my own. I’m really going to show my age here but…

22 years of singing at events (including over 600 weddings!) was a crash course in learning how to read a room, control a crowd and set the PERFECT vibe, so you know I’m your gal for all things ceremony music and avoiding awkward silences.

14 years as a bridal stylist and concierge taught me patience, compassion and how to handle every emotion (and dress emergency!) with a smile. From last minute bustle drama to bridal meltdowns, I’ve seen it, fixed it and kept the day on track.

Put these literal decades of experience together and you get a celebrant who’s not just there to say the words - I’m there to make your ceremony meaningful, fun, relaxed and always 100% ‘you’.

In a nutshell…

LOVES - Christmas lights, Spicy Margs in Summer and Brandy Alexanders for Winter, 70s soul/motown/funk, chocolate baking projects, pub quizzes, COLOUR, eating out (particular anything Asian, seafood and/or spicy), good company and great chats, a real fire, reading thrillers and last and most of all, my family; husband Christy and two cats, Ladcat and Claude.

HATES - Bananas, the ‘big light’, fitted sheets (why do they never stay on?), being cold, standing at gigs/bars (no seat, no bueno) and pigeons with limps - my wee heart can’t take it!

So, what is a Celebrant?

I’m so glad you asked! The short answer is that in choosing a celebrant, you’re choosing freedom (how perfectly Scottish of you!) - the freedom to create something that’s authentically and unapologetically you, unbound by rules, restrictions and any formalities that don’t represent you. That means no ‘We cant do it like that, we have to say this’ nonsense here!

I’ll be your guide and advocate, your biggest cheerleader and co-creator in crafting a ceremony that feels like it’s been tailor made from your own story…because it has. Whether it’s a wedding, celebration of life or funeral, vow renewal, naming day or any other milestone moment, I’ll work with you to design a script that’s one-of-a-kind, meaningful, and far from from the boring, beige ceremonies you may have seen before.

Delivered with confidence, humour in all the right places and connection; this is your journey and it deserves to be celebrated so perhaps we’ll laugh about that time you thought they were breaking up with you but actually, just trying to ask you to move in with them (hint: Don’t open with the line ‘We need to have a chat’ in any other circumstance other than THE END.). Maybe we’ll include exactly what you said to your squad in the group chat after the first date…It might be brutal (‘Cute but a bit dull…?’), but well, just look how that turned out!

Baby Naming

A baby naming ceremony is your chance to officially say ‘Welcome to the world, tiny human!’ in a way that’s big on love and light on formality.

I’ll create a joyful, personalised celebration that feels natural and fun, weaving in your quirks, values and any traditions that make your family special.

It’s all about celebrating the guest of honour; your little one (who if we’re lucky, might just treat us to a nap!) and the beautiful chaos of becoming a family.

Funeral and Celebration of Life

Saying goodbye is never easy but celebrating a life well lived can be something truly beautiful.

I’ll work with you to craft a ceremony that feels personal and full of warmth, telling your loved one’s story with honesty, care and even a few smiles.

Whether its formal or free flowing, tearful or full of laughter, we’ll honour them in a way that captures who they really were, not just perfunctory dates on a timeline.

It’s about creating something that feels less like ‘Goodbye’ and more like a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ for being them.

Vow Renewal

A vow renewal is your well earned, no pressure re-do! Your opportunity to say ‘I still do’ but with even better stories, more inside jokes and maybe even fewer nerves this time around.
